Day 3 - was another full day of driving. We are traveling along the I-90 and are in South Dakota, there is an abundance of wind farms to look at, other than that, there is a lot of flat land. You can see for miles and miles. Sunflower and soy fields seem to be the popular crops. We finished the day at a full hook-up RV park in Mitchell, SD. Nice to have electricity and the internet.
Day 4 - started with a visit to the only corn palace in the world, which is also in Mitchell. Then we were on our way to the Badlands National Park. Just before the park we stopped to see Prairie dogs, they put gophers to shame. There must have been a prairie dog hole every 2-5 feet. So it was on to the badlands which did not disappoint ....what spectacular views. Having already seen the Grand Canyon, Gary and I did a lot of comparing of the two parks. What was a real treat, was to see how much Bev and Tom were blown away with the beauty of the landscape.
day 5 - Wyoming scenic drive ...how to they find all their cows? The scenery has changed. We are up and down with the elevations and experiencing a lot of WOW moments. Bev wants to move to Wyoming. Every turn is a new landscape with an array of colors. The stone gives the appearance of varigated marble with hues of pink, blues, and mauve. We hope the photos do it justice. There were rock formations that took your breath away accompanied by a continuous flow of verbal ooos & awes within the RV.
