We are a few days behind

I have been hearing that some of you would like to leave a comment and you are having difficulty doing so.  I am not sure what the proper way is, but the easiest way is as follows:
 - go the end of a blog and write a message in the Post a Comment box.
 - in the comment as box - "select profile"  choose "anonymous"
 - click on "post a comment"
 - don't forget to include your name at the end of your comment.
Good Luck, Debbie

I now turn the writing back to Bev.

After a full day of driving very winding roads, passing pear orchard and berry farms, we arrived at the Montavon Berry Farm (Harvest Hosts).   We were greeted by the owner, Lee Montavon.

Lee directed us to our spot for the night.  We decided to pick some blueberries before dinner.  The temperature was 93 F and certainly not incentive for berry picking.  The patch was located at the very top of the berry ridge.  Lee Montavon, her sister Sheryl, their children and grandchildren had set up a water slide utilizing a tarp and garden hose.  What fun!!!

OOPs!!!!
Gary deserted Tom while picking berries and attempted a run & slide down the tarp.  Photo attached!  I couldn't keep the camera still due to laughter.    Gary's first attempt was unsuccessful and spastic!  He slipped on the grass and fell to the ground injuring his big toe. Although Tom couldn't see what happened (he was up to elbows in blueberries) he almost choked on his mouthful imagining Gary's tumble down the hill.  The trooper that he is - Gary got up and tried again.  Success - he slid down the slide and Lee followed.  Apparently it was refreshing and exhilarating.  Tom continued to pick blueberries for all of us to enjoy later. Gary was of no help but he sure was entertaining.

Tom, you pick...I want to go sliding!!!!
We enjoyed a spaghetti & meatball dinner along with our staple.....WINE!  However, Debbie was the life of the party as she had TWO rum and cokes.  Her mouth runneth over!!!! She was very amusing!
Lee & Sheryl joined us for an outdoor chitchat.  We learned they are Hawaiian and a strong military family.  Lee's husband, Roger, is also military and was in Washington State assisting the return of his troops.

We had a wonderful time at the Montavon Berry Farm.  We highly recommend this Harvest Host family to anyone who needs a place to stay during their travels.  The hospitality is outstanding.  Thank you Montavon family, you made our trip very special.
